Art Sprouts
Preschool art & storytime
a once-a-month caregiver/child art class designed especially for preschoolers (ages 3–5).
Each 60-minute session blends literacy, creativity, and play through:
📖 A short storytime
🎨 A hands-on art project
🖐️ A sensory table for open-ended exploration
Come for one class or join the full fall series! Each session is unique, with a new story, project, and art experience—perfect for little ones who love to imagine, create, and explore.
Fall Sessions:
Session 1: Color Magic
📅 Sunday, September 14
Discover the magic of color mixing! We’ll read Mix It Up! by Hervé Tullet and explore process art and sensory play that invite children to experiment freely. Little artists will bring home their own vibrant masterpiece.
Session 2: Leaf Man
📅 Sunday, October 5
Celebrate autumn with Leaf Man by Lois Ehlert. Using real leaves, glue, and imagination, children will design nature-inspired creations to take home and treasure.
Session 3: Beautiful Oops!
📅 Sunday, November 16
Based on Barney Saltzberg’s Beautiful Oops!, this session celebrates turning “mistakes” into something wonderful. Children will create a one-of-a-kind collage or layered painting while learning flexibility and creative confidence.
Every class includes a sensory play area for children who prefer to explore at their own pace.
Why Families Love Art Sprouts:
Quality Time Together: Caregivers and children connect through stories, art, and play.
Creative Confidence: Little ones learn that there’s no “right” way to make art—just joyful exploration.
Literacy + Art: Storytime inspires the project, making reading come alive through hands-on activities.
Sensory-Friendly: Each class includes open-ended materials for children who learn best through touch and movement.
Take-Home Memories: Every session ends with a special piece of art your child creates to share at home.
About the Teacher:
Carolyn Evans is a local Natick mom of 2. She has 12 years of teaching experience and a master's in early childhood education from Lesley University. Alongside classroom teaching Carolyn ran a small children's programming business, The Tiny Kitchen, and early childhood play groups. Carolyn loves bringing together elements of books, art, play, and songs as a way to teach literacy and social/emotional skills but more importantly lessons about friendship, togetherness, and fun! She loves working with families, caregivers, and the local community.
